The Wedding Bands

Had our bands chosen at Lee Hwa in the end. We had a hard time choosing the right pair. It was either he liked his but I don't like mine. So in the end, we each bought an individual ring, but it still fits! Haha...

All along I thot my ring size was #10, but this time round all my rings were bought in size #9.

After settling the design, we had to think of what to engrave on it. Hmm, as there is serious limitation for my design, I have to think of words with letters no more than 6? Haha.. seriously, this is a big challenge for me. :( Even if I choose to engrave in chinese, also might have a problem because Lee Hwa does not engrave anything in chinese... But for dear, it is a different story. His ring can be engraved fully around the circumference... 好幸福, 好羡慕哦!

Collected our wedding bands on Sunday, went to racky around Orchard Cineleisure and Cuppage for the shop that does engraving. But don't know why we just can't find them when we need them...

Why oh why ah!

Justice of the Peace (Finale)

Done! We have finally settled the JP for our event... Was supposed to meet up with Dr. Chew yesterday, but he had an emergency case so we postphoned it to today. Even though we reached there 15mins earlier, we still had to wait for him to return from another emergency case today. It wasn't until 30mins later then he returned.

Well, it was a fruitful and worthy wait. He is a very friendly and fatherly man. It could be due to his nature of work and the many years of experience. He began to ask about our age and background and how both of us met, chatting with him was very much enjoyable and he started to explain briefly the procedure on that day.

So the whole process will only take about 5 to 10mins and we have to prepare all the Identification card of both ours as well as our witnesses'.. He will solemnize our event in our chosen language - Chinese and he surprised me when he asked us to prepare our own marriage exchange vows! OMGosh!!! Haha.. Most of the time I will see such request done by the couple and not otherwise. I really am in awe of Dr. Chew...

For any post experience, I will update again soon.. Hahaa!

Justice of the Peace (Part 2)

Ok, I know it is no easy feat to confitm a JP on such popular date. But I did not expect it to be that bad :( I have checked with 7 JPs and still counting. Yes, and all of them either have got other appointments, or are having a busy schedule. I just hope I am able to source for my right JP before our ROM day.

Justice of the Peace

We do not have any special JPs in mind. But we are slowly starting to panic. What if last minute we can't find any good JP to hold our ROM? What if the JP we got is nasty? I read in the forum that there were one couple whose JP stood them out, and did not turn up for their big day, in the end they had to cancel the whole event. That is so mean of the JP.

Also, I read in the forum that there were some couples who managed to booked an appointment with the JPs way ahead of the 3 months rule. Really hope by the time I'm making my appointment with the JPs it will all be fine.

I emailed one JP recommended in the forum, who is a very popular choice on Monday. His reply was really prompt as mentioned, but he did not immediately agreed to our invitation. We were told that his schedule for October was not out yet, thus, would not want to commit just yet. Oh well, guess I need to enquire with him early next month then.

I called up another JP as recommended by the previous wedding planner, but till date, there is no reply from him yet. Guess I need to find other alternatives. Just in case.

The preparations

After the proposal, we started to think of dates. Meaningful dates, special dates, anniversay dates, etc. In the end, we decided on 10 October 2010. Why? I guess because it was a special date since our anniversary was nowhere near. But not long after we settled for it, I realised that it actually has another meaning. 它代表了两个人在一起,共同创造新的开始。。。 That is why I will never want to change our ROM day to other dates anymore. Even if it means not having our priority choice of venue at Keppel Club, Peony Jade.

Well it was kind of a roller coaster ride for the both of us the past 2 months. We actually had the new venue and details settled, but a few weeks later, the wedding planner told us that there was a contractual dispute between the owner and tennent at our chosen venue, thus, we have to source for alternatives! *sigh*

Getting ROM-ed on a popular date, we had to start looking around for the new venue frantically. Trust me, it will never be pleasant to do that. It totally stressed both of us out. But maybe lady luck was on our side, I happened to chance upon Red Dot one evening as my ex-classmates and I went for dinner. It could be due to the fact that it was a evening, therefore, the ambience was really amazing! For no reason, I decided to enquire with them the next day.

Luckily I did my enquiries. We will be holding our ROM there on 10 October 2010. It shall be a 124 more days and counting.

My Proposal

There were no on the knees scene, just pure surprise and love... :)

Ming Kun decided to take me on a photoshoot of the sunrise on our 2nd year anniversary.. I do not know if it was on purpose or by chance as he was suppose to be at work, but decided not to in the end as I was on leave the whole week due to CNY. We were early when we reached ECP, and was very worried if the sun decided not to rise in favour of us. So we stood prepared the few hours in hope of the glim of light!

Alas, we failed, so we packed up and went for breakfast @ macdonalds in the end. We stayed around ECP further to wait for the day to break dawn, and after that we continued with more photoshoots. After that, we drove our way back to return my aunt's car, and that is when he finally proposed.

It was too late to think why I accepted his proposal without him even kneeling. But I do no mind if he kneel down to help me tie my shoelace next time... Haha..
